Canadian Club of Rome one day excursion

The Canadian Club of Rome participated in a one day excursion to the Villino Volterra and palazzo Chigi. In the morning, horticulturalist, Elena Alleva, explained the features of the historical garden while the owner, Virginia Volterra, explained the history and features of this liberty style villino built by her grandfather, Vito Volterra.

After an alfresco lunch in the garden and a wine testing organized by Fontana di Papa, two guides, Sara Scarselletta and Roberta Londi introduced the Grand Tour in the Colli Albani by reading excerpts from well known authors and showing works of famous painters. later in the afternoon, they guided the participants through Palazzo Chigi and Ariccia’s main square, following in the footsteps of the « Grand tourists ».
